I started Wandering Chickpea as an Instagram account when I was 16 years old. Good food and cooking have always been a big part of my life. I have a dairy, egg and nut allergy so I had to learn how to prepare my own food pretty early on. My mom taught me how to cook and follow a recipe, and then I eventually taught myself how to write my own through lots of trial and error. I’ve always been drawn to creative things like drawing and painting so channeling that into my food felt really natural and fun for me.

I grew up in the Chicago area before I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Communication and Media Art & Design. I’m now based in Austin, TX. I love to draw, binge watch tv shows and make little trinkets out of polymer clay. I also enjoy running, lifting weights and climbing so lots of the recipes you’ll find here are designed to support an active lifestyle.
If you make a Wandering Chickpea recipe, tag me on Instagram and I will feature it in my stories! You can also follow along on Pinterest and subscribe to receive new recipes by email every week.
I’d love to hear from you! If you have a question or want to work together, get in touch here.
